Ottolenghi
This book lives up to its name – it is the perfect starting point if you haven’t cooked Ottolenghi recipes yet. While the recipes may not always be simple in terms of ingredients, they are all very manageable.
My 2 recommendations when you want to start cooking Ottolenghi recipes:
- Browse the book for and pick out the recipes that appeal to you the most. Which less common inredients are needed? Start there. You don’t need to buy the full list of ‘Ottolenghi ingredients’. One of my all-time favorite Ottloenghi ingredients: Harissa.
- Some recipes take time. But often that just means, you need to roast something in the oven for 30-60 minutes. So while it takes time, it does not mean you need to be in the kitchen the entire time. Don’t let that stop you from trying the recipes. Time is oftentimes the secret to flavor.
